OSIS SMA NEGERI 12 DEPOK
OSIS merupakan kepanjangan dari Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah yang merupakan satu-satunya wadah organisasi siswa secara resmi yang ada di dalam sekolah. Organisasi ini berada di tingkat sekolah yang dibentuk di sekolah menengah yaitu SMP dan SMA. Organisasi ini menjadi wadah berkumpulnya sekelompok siswa yang bekerja sama untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. OSIS berfungsi sebagai wadah atau penyalur sarana untuk berkomunikasi, menyampaikan pemikiran, menghimpun minat dan bakat para siswa ke dalam satu wadah. Organisasi ini memiliki peran sebagai penggerak siswa dalam hal menegur, merangkul, dan mengajak untuk aktif berkontribusi di sekolah.
Masing-masing dari kata OSIS memiliki makna tersendiri :
1. Organisasi
Secara umum adalah suatu kelompok yang memiliki tujuan sama dan bekerja sama untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut. Organisasi dalam hal ini diartikan sebagai satuan atau kelompok kerja sama para siswa yang dibentuk dalam usaha mencapai tujuan bersama, yaitu mendukung dan mengendalikan aktivitas siswa agar mencapai tujuan yang positif.
2. Siswa
Siswa adalah peserta didik yang merupakan warga sekolah pada satuan pendidikan dasar dan menengah.
3. Intra
Intra yang berarti terletak di dalam dan di antara. Sehingga OSIS hanya suatu organisasi siswa yang ada di dalam dan di lingkungan sekolah yang bersangkutan, yang tidak mempunyai hubungan organisatoris dengan OSIS di sekolah lain dan tidak menjadi bagian atau alat dari organisasi lain yang ada di luar sekolah.
4. Sekolah
Secara umum sekolah merupakan satuan pendidikan sebagai tempat menyelenggarakan kegiatan belajar mengajar.
Setiap organisasi memiliki tujuan tertentu dan bersama sama mencapai tujuan tersebut. Di dalam Organisasi ini, tentunya terdapat bermacam-macam kegiatan yang dilaksanakan dalam usaha mencapai tujuan yang dimiliki. Kegiatan-kegiatan tersebut berasal dari setiap bidang jabatan yang ada di dalam organisasi ini. Kegiatan-kegiatan yang dilaksanakan berkaitan dengan Ketuhanan, bela negara, teknologi dan informasi, kesehatan, kesenian, politik, budi pekerti, dan kewirausahaan.
Setiap organisasi selalu memiliki tujuan yang ingin dicapai, begitu pula dengan OSIS. Ada beberapa tujuan yang ingin dicapai, antara lain :
1. Meningkatkan generasi penerus yang beriman dan bertaqwa.
2. Memahami, menghargai lingkungan hidup dan nilai-nilai moral dalam mengambil keputusan yang tepat.
3. Membangun landasan kepribadian yang kuat dan menghargai HAM dalam kontek kemajuan budaya bangsa.
4. Membangun, mengembangkan wawasan kebangsaan dan rasa cinta tanah air.
5. Memperdalam sikap jujur, disiplin, bertanggung jawab, Profesional, kerjasama secara mandiri, berpikir logis dan demokratis.
6. Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan serta menghargai setiap karya.
7. Memantapkan kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara.
Berdasarkan tujuan, OSIS juga memiliki fungsi sebagai wadah atau sarana, motivator, dan penggerak bagi para siswa dalam mencapai tujuan pembinaan dan pengembangan siswa yang sesuai dengan visi-misi serta aturan sekolah. OSIS adalah satu-satunya wadah organisasi siswa yang sah di sekolah. Oleh karena itu setiap sekolah wajib membentuk Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah (OSIS). Siswa yang tergabung dalam bagian OSIS disebut sebagai pengurus OSIS, yang telah memiliki tugasnya masing-masing sesuai dengan bidang jabatan yang didapatkan.
Bergabungnya dalam sebuah organisasi akan banyak mendapatkan manfaat dan pengalaman pengalaman baru. Terlebih apabila bergabung dalam organisasi di sekolah, yang tentunya selain melaksanakan kegiatan belajar dapat juga berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan kegiatan yang ada pada OSIS di luar bidang akademik. Untuk seluruh siswa siswi di sekolah, marilah bergabung dalam organisasi sekolah yaitu OSIS, karena tentunya akan sangat banyak manfaat yang didapatkan diantaranya dapat melatih diri mengenai kepemimpinan, melatih diri dalam bekerja sama yang baik, melatih mental, melatih kemampuan berbicara, meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, memperluas relasi pertemanan. Sangat menguntungkan apabila masa remaja dapat diisi dengan kegiatan yang baik, bermanfaat bagi diri sendiri dan orang lain, serta dapat menjadi bekal di masa yang akan datang. Bekal tersebut bisa dari pengalaman baik yang dapat dijadikan motivasi, maupun pengalaman kurang baik yang dapat dijadikan pelajaran dan evaluasi untuk ke depannya. Akan banyak sekali pengalaman-pengalaman ketika bergabung dalam OSIS yang dapat berguna untuk menata kehidupan yang lebih baik.
Setiap organisasi tentu memiliki kepengurusan masing-masing. Salah satunya organisasi di sekolah yaitu OSIS memiliki struktur kepengurusan di dalamnya.
